Leonardo Da Vinci’s Inventions

Leonardo Da Vinci’s diving suit invention was meant for sneak attacks on enemy ships underwater. It was leather with a bag-like mask that went over the diver’s head. on the mask there were two tubes that led up to a cork diving bell floating on the surface. It also had a valve-operated balloon that could be inflated or deflated, this way the diver could more easily sink or rise. It also had a pouch for the diver to urinate in.

Today’s modern diving suit consists of a waterproof one-piece suit. It is made up of canvas and rubber that covers the whole diver except for the head and hands. A tight band covers the suit at the wrists so the diver’s hands may be free. The diver must wear lead boots that weigh around 40 pounds. They must also wear lead weights on there chest. A helmet worn on the head has a window on the front and sides. There is a pipe that connects from the helmet to an air supply.
